Averil Newbold

Position - Bookkeeper

Professional Experience - Averil initially started working for Kilby Fox straight from school, leaving some years later to raise her family, but then returned in 2004. Averil has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in many varied businesses in both manual and computerised bookkeeping and in the preparation of VAT Returns.

David Beavan

Position - Client Manager

Qualifications - David achieved full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2004

Professional Experience - David joined the firm in 1999 after leaving school. During David's time at Kilby Fox he has gained extensive knowledge and experience and has built up a good working relationship with his clients. As well as managing one of the partners client portfolios, David is also actively involved in a wide variety of audit and accounts assignments covering a broad spectrum of different business types. David's work includes clients based throughout England, Scotland, Germany and even Japan. David's time is divided between working at Kilby Fox's offices and visiting clients.

Specialist Areas - Audit and Management Accounts

Interests & Hobbies - In his spare time David enjoys painting and drawing and socialising with friends. By his own admission David is a keen "petrol head" and attends performance car events and races throughout the UK, including the local racing circuit of Silverstone and Santa Pod Raceway.

David Deacon

Position - Tax Manager

Qualifications - David qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1994.

Professional Experience - David was born and raised in Northampton and joined Kilby Fox as a member of the Tax Department in 1986. He has dealt with all forms of Taxation and National Insurance planning and over the years has given seminars and lectured on a wide range of tax topics. David recently headed up our new Probate Department with looks to take Inheritance Tax planning a step further by offering to deal with Probate applications for deceased clients.

Specialist Areas - David specialises in Tax Planning, Exit Strategies and more recently, Probate cases.

Dominique Baker

Position - Accounts Junior

Qualifications - Dominique is currently studying her AAT

Professional Experience - Dominique has been working at Kilby Fox since 2008, she assists on audits and carries out accounts preparation and completes VAT returns for a number of different industry sectors and a range of client types.

Specialist Areas - Accounts preparation

Interests & Hobbies - In her spare time Dominique enjoys going out for dinner and socialising with friends.

Frances Tebbutt

Position - Client Manager

Qualifications - Frances is FMAAT and ACCA qualified

Professional Experience - Frances has worked at Kilby Fox since 2001 after leaving school. During the time Frances has gained extensive knowledge in all areas of audit and accountancy and deals with all clients from Sole Traders to Limited Companies. Frances helps out in the payroll department from time to time.

Specialist Areas - Frances specialises in all aspects of general accountancy

Interests & Hobbies - In her spare time Frances leads two Brownie groups and also enjoys eating out and going to the Theatre.

Gemma Dickens

Position - Business Development & Marketing Manager

Qualifications - Gemma is a studying member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She currently holds a Professional Certificate in Marketing and is working towards a Professional Diploma in Marketing.

Professional Experience - Gemma has worked for Kilby Fox since 2004 where she started off as an accounts junior. Gemma quickly decided that she would be better suited in the Marketing Department. Gemma now heads the Marketing Department and strives to develop Public Relations for the firm. She also plays a key role in gaining new clients and managing processes and procedures within the firm. Gemma also holds many Office Manager responsibilities, liasing with members of staff, suppliers, clients and contacts.

Specialist Areas - Gemma specialises in the development of processes and procedures and brand awareness.

Interests & Hobbies - In her spare time Gemma enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, going to the gym, taking part in fitness classes and gardening. Gemma has recently taken up golf.

Gerry Thompson

Position - Payroll Manager

Qualifications - Gerry holds a qualification in Payroll Management and is AAT qualified

Professional Experience - Gerry has worked in payroll for over 25 years. Gerry originally joined Kilby Fox in 1999, she left in 2005 and rejoined 18 months later. Gerry currently prepares payrolls for over 70 clients, these are a combination of weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annually.

Specialist Areas - Gerry specialises in all aspects of payroll from starters and leavers, to statutory payments and deductions, Court orders and student loans to the preparation of Year End P35's, P60's and P14's.

Interests & Hobbies - Gerry has two children Lee and Emily who are both competitive swimmers, so much of her spare time is taken up with training and galas.

Jayne Taylor

Position - Client Manager

Qualifications - Jayne is a fellow member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Professional Experience - Jayne has worked for Kilby Fox since 1995 when she started her career as an accounts junior. Jayne has gained extensive knowledge and experience in accountancy, auditing and general business advice for small and medium sized enterprises over a wide range of industries.

Interest & Hobbies - In her spare time Jayne enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys taking long walks and enjoying the countryside. 

Jo Dowdy

Position - Manager & Forensic Manager

Professional Experience - Jo has worked for Kilby Fox since 1982 gaining extensive knowledge and experience in accounting, taxation and the provision of general business advice for small and medium sized enterprises. In 1999 Jo became a founder member of the Kilby Fox Forensic Accounting Team. Since then Jo has been involved in the preparation of numerous Single and Joint Witness Reports.

Specialist Areas - Jo specialises in her Forensic work, specifically Criminal cases and Company Valuations for Matrimonial disputes.

Interests & Hobbies - In her spare time Jo can be found helping the local canine community as she is a qualified canine behaviourist and on serveral canine club committees. Jo also enjoys attending dog shows in England and Europe where she will either be showing one of her own dogs or judging. 

Martin Crooke

Position - Client Manager

Qualifications - Martin achieved his AAT qualification in 2009 and is now working towards the ACCA qualification.

Professional Experience - Martin has worked at Kilby Fox since January 2006, initially as an accounts and audit junior, now as a more senior member of staff holding the title of Client Manager. Martin leads audits for some of our clients but mainly works in the office preparing and reviewing accounts for clients of all types.

Specialist Areas - Martin specialises in Accounts preparation and Auditing

Interests & Hobbies - In martin's spare time he enjoys playing football twice a week, and a round of golf when the weather is nice. Martin is also a keen snooker player.

Rob Pouncey

Position - Tax Manager

Qualifications - Rob is a member of the Association of Tax Technicians and also the Association on Accounting Technicians.

Professional Experience - Rob is an established member of the Kilby Fox work-force having joined virtually since leaving school. He is reluctant to confirm exactly how long ago this was but if pushed, will accept that it was a "little" over five years ago! He initially trained in accountancy and became an Accounts and Audit Senior with the firm. In order to escape from audit he decided to specialise in tax and passed his taxation examinations. Rob is now one of the firm's Tax Managers and Advisors.

Rob is involved in and has gained great experience in all areas of personal and corporate tax compliance and planning including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and Corporation Tax. He still helps on the accountancy side of things and has also undertaken work in connection with the firm's Expert Witness Reports.               

Specialist Areas - Rob specialises in Tax Planning and Compliance.

Interests & Hobbies - In his spare time Rob's interest lie mainly in sports - playing golf and cricket (although nowadays his interest lies mainly in the cricket tea!) and watching most sports played with a correctly shaped round ball! However, the most important thing to Rob is his family and he spends most of his spare time taking his daughter to and watching his daughter at swimming training and galas.
